World Water Week 2023 is focused on innovation at a time of unprecedented challenges. The theme “Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World” invites us to rethink how we manage water. Which ideas, innovations, and governance systems will we need in a more unstable and water scarce world?

This year, CWR’s Dawn McGregor and RSK Group’s Mark Smith will be doing a free live talk show on the topic “Making Net-Zero Possible For The Water Sector & The World“. Water utilities account for around 2% of GHG emissions, equivalent to global shipping and demand could double by 2040. The world cannot reach net zero without water utilities and actually they can lead.

Rapid decarbonisation is already possible with readily available and low-cost technologies; 50% of utilities’ emissions can be abated with current technology. Which technologies are these? How are utilities going net zero? Which utilities are doing it? What solutions are they implementing? What are the key challenges? Find out this and more in our talks how.
