Post-COP26: Charting a Net-zero Carbon Path for Hong Kong’s Next Metropolis

CWR’s CT Low will be speaking in this webinar
AECOM is hosting a webinar “Post-COP26: Charting a Net-zero Carbon Path for Hong Kong’s Next Metropolis” as part of its Delivering Sustainable Legacies Asia Webinar Series. This event is jointly organised with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Hong Kong.
While mega-developments such as the Northern Metropolis and Greater Bay Area will ease housing shortage and enhance Hong Kong’s economic future, it can also potentially be a major contributor of carbon emissions. How can the city balance its development and expansion, while actively working to mitigate the effects of climate change and build a future-proof resilient city?
CWR’s CT Low will be sitting on the panel of industry experts to explore this question from various viewpoints, from urban planning and green finance to construction, as well as the challenges and opportunities ahead.
- How will the net-zero pledge signed at COP26 and the HKSAR Government’s Climate Action Plan 2050 affect urban development and infrastructure in the future to cope with climate risks?
- How will closer integration into the Greater Bay Area impact Hong Kong’s urban planning while securing a sustainable future?
- What can be done to accelerate mutually beneficial partnerships between the Government, businesses and society to build climate-resilient infrastructure and a future ready city?
